About Kevin Leung

Kevin’s top 3 points:

  • Teachers
  • Educational excellence
  • Restore trust and accountability

Kevin Leung knows how important it is to have a good education. His parents were illiterate and he grew up very poor. Through quality education and hard work, he now owns a successful local business and lives in a beautiful neighborhood in Douglas County for 26 years. Kevin and his wife of 27 years, Shirley, have three wonderful kids.

Kevin and his wife started their life with close to $10,000 in debt. Together, they built a successful company that not only survived the Great Recession, but continued to grow from one to three locations in twelve years. Their company ranked as one of the top 250 Colorado private companies in the November 2014 issue of the Colorado Biz magazine. Prior to starting his business, Kevin was a global IT manager and worked for the US Army for three years.

Kevin is a long-time volunteer in the community and believes giving back can only help society become better and stronger. He is currently the only Douglas County parent, and one of only sixteen individuals, appointed statewide to serve on the Colorado State Advisory Council for Parent Involvement in Education. He also serves on the Colorado Department of Education’s Accountability Work Group and was a member of the ESSA Accountability Spoke Committee.  In addition, Kevin is the Chair for the City of Parker’s Authority for Reinvestment Advisory Committee, and was invited to participate in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District’s Business Roundtable. He previously served a three-year term on the Douglas County School District’s District Accountability Committee.  He was also the vice chair of Rock Canyon High School’s School Accountability Committee.

Kevin is trusted and respected by the local community.  He served on the 2016 Rocky Heights Middle School Principal Interview Committee and was a Rocky Heights parent representative in the “Colorado School to Watch interview” by the Colorado Association of Middle Level Education (CAMLE).

Kevin has two master’s degrees. He earned his M.B.A from the University of Colorado Denver and his Master of Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.  He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah.
